Request

Request Received: 17 May 2023

I would like to make a freedom of information request relating to the 2020, 2021 and 2022 Biomedical Catalyst grants from Innovate UK. These awards are typically made twice per year and each award has set criteria. For example, the Biomedical Catalyst 2021 Round 2 had the following criteria:

• have total eligible costs between £50,000 and £1 million

• start on 1 April 2022

• end by 31 March 2024

• last between 3 months and 24 months

• carry out all of its project work in the UK

• intend to exploit the results from or in the UK

FOI Request - Please can you confirm that award recipients who weren't able to start by the grant's prescribed start date haven't had their dates extended? If recipients have had their dates extended then please can you confirm the number of recipients who have been granted an extension and the reasons for these extensions?
