Request
Request Received: 17 May 2021
I am writing to make a request for all the information to which I am entitled under the Freedom of Information Act 2000. Please send me:
1. The number of companies that applied for Innovate funding over the last 4 years (broken down year by year).
2. The number of companies that were successful and not successful in securing funding (simple matrix, broken down year by year)
3. The type of companies (e.g. charity, a private company, academic, etc.), broken down year by year.
I would like the above information to be provided to me in a spreadsheet format. A table displaying the information will suffice.

Please find the information attached in document 'FOI2021-00251 Data Set - Applicants 4 years'.
Please note that in the attached document, 'applicant organisation' uses a count of all applicants so includes applicants who have been involved in more than one application. 'Unique applicant organisation' uses a distinct count so only counts an organisation once where they are involved in multiple applications. For example, if Company A was involved in 3 applications submitted in 2020/21, in the 'applicant organisation' figures they would have been counted 3 times, but in the 'unique' figures they will only have been included once.
