Request

Request Received: 6 December 2019

I'm looking to make an FOI request on clinical research to help inform a product idea to support the healthcare system.

Is it possible to provide answers to the following or direct me to relevant sources:

• How many clinical research studies or pilots were supported by MRC in 2017, 2018 and 2019?

o How many of those were conducted by an NHS trust? (Broken down by each trust)

o How many of those were conducted by a university? (Broken down by each university)

• What were the top 20 domains with the most research studies conducted in 2017, 2018 and 2019? e.g. dis-ease/therapy area etc.

• From NHS staff in 2017, 2018 and 2019

o How many applications were made for funding to MRC?

o How many were accepted?

o How much was the total funding secured?

• From university academics in 2017, 2018 and 2019

o How many applications were made for funding to MRC?

o How many were accepted?

o How much was the total funding secured?

• Over the last 12 months, what was the average time it took someone to secure funding for clinical research (from application to funding)?
