This is an Environmental Information Regulations request.
I am writing to request information about meetings and correspondence between the BGS and representatives of the fracking industry.
Please state how many meetings have taken place between the following members of the British Geological Survey
Brian Baptie
David Kerridge
Jennifer Jamieson Ball
Jennifer Forster
and representatives, including third party representatives, of the following companies:
Cuadrilla
Ineos
Igas
Egdon Resources
United Kingdom Onshore Oil and Gas (UKOOG)
In the period 01 April 2022 up to and including 16 September 2022.
For each meeting, please state:
a. The location of the meeting
b. The names and/or job titles of those present
c. The purpose of the meeting
2. Please also provide copies of any documents related to these meetings. This should include but not be limited to:
a. Agendas
b. Minutes
c. Briefing documents
d. Other meeting memoranda
3. Please also provide copies of communications generated in 2022 between the aforementioned members of BGS senior management board (Brian Baptie, David Kerridge, Jennifer Jamieson Ball Jennifer Forster) and representatives including third party representatives of the aforementioned fracking companies (Cuadrilla, Ineos, Igas, Egdon Resources, United Kingdom Onshore Oil and Gas (UKOOG)
This should include, but not necessarily be limited to:
a. Emails
b. Text messages
c. Messages sent on frequently used digital platforms such as What's App or Microsoft Teams

Thank you for your request concerning information about meetings and correspondence between Brian Baptie, David Kerridge, Jennifer Jamieson Ball and Jennifer Forster of the British Geological Survey and Cuadrilla, Ineos, Igas, Egdon Resources and United Kingdom Onshore Oil and Gas (UKOOG). This request concerns environmental information and has therefore been considered under the terms of the Environmental Information Regulations 2004.
There have been no meetings between the BGS staff named and the parties named during the period 1st April 2022 and 16th September 2022; and so there are no documents relating to those meetings. Furthermore, there has been no correspondence during 2022, between the BGS staff named and the parties named and therefore BGS holds no information within the scope of this request. Exception 12(4)(a) 'Information not held' applies.
