Request

Request Received: 5 January 2024

I am looking for some assistance with your organisation's Spend/Transparency data, available on the following weblink:

https://www.ukri.org/about-us/policies-and-standards/transparency/

There appears to be no file available for the month of October 2023 file. Could you advise when the file will be made available to view online? Would it be possible for you to email me a copy of the October 2023 file please and thank you.

The information you have requested is exempt from disclosure under Section 22(1) of the FOIA as it is intended for future publication. Section 22 is a qualified exemption meaning that it is subject to the public interest test.

UKRI understand that being transparent in regard to financial data is in the public interest. However, the document requested is being finalised and we are of the view that releasing the information as it currently stands could be inaccurate or incomplete and thus not in the public interest.

We have therefore determined that the outcome of this test is that the public interest is insufficient to justify immediate disclosure. This information is likely to be available by the end of January 2024 and will be published to this link: https://www.ukri.org/publications/financial-transparency-data-all-transactions-2023/

Please note, the link you provided in your request is not valid and all financial transparency data is now available from https://www.ukri.org/who-we-are/policies-standards-and-data/data-collections/financial-data/. The data includes all the research councils, Innovate UK and Research England, as they have been brought together under UKRI.

Typically, you can expect this data to be published within 2-3 months, however, due to staff restructuring, there is currently a delay in publishing, which we hope to have resolved by the end January.
