Request

Request Received: 3 August 2023

Clarification Received: 4 September 2023

I was part of a mesh hernia trial back in Sept 1996 at the Western Infirmary Glasgow and the surgeon was Paddy O'Dwyer.

Do you have any information relating to this trial that you can send me?

I'm really looking for:

• The manufacturer of the mesh

• The type of mesh used in the operation

• The size of the mesh used

• No of mesh implants (I was always told it was 2, but have since found info that it might be 1)

• The method of securing the mesh in place

• Any feedback regarding people in the trial having health issues (especially daily pain / fertility problems / daily head aches / back pain)

• Was my operation conducted by P O'Dwyer

• Is there a life expectancy of this mesh used
