UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) holds information relevant to your request. Please see the information below.
The information you have requested is exempt from disclosure under Section 22(1) of the FOIA, as it is intended for future publication. Section 22 is a qualified exemption meaning that it is subject to the public interest test.
UKRI understand that being transparent in regard to successful grant applicants is in the public interest. However, funders panel decisions and subsequent award notifications are an agreement in principle that a project will be funded. Funding is not confirmed until a grant offer letter has been returned and the project set-up process completed.
Therefore, as all of the 43 successful applicants to the Innovate UK Smart grants: November 2024 competition are still in the project set-up phase, the requested data has not yet been confirmed and we are of the view that releasing this information as it currently stands would be potentially inaccurate and misleading and thus not in the public interest.
We have therefore determined that the outcome of this test is that the public interest is insufficient to justify immediate disclosure. This information will be published to the Innovate UK Transparency Data once all successful applicants have completed project set-up.
