I have been told by the Department for Health and Social Care that they are not the appropriate authority and have suggested that I contact you for the information I require.

Therefore, please can you advise me of the name of the person from the Department for Health who contracted or commissioned the MRC (David Rae - IEH) to write the review on Organophosphates published in 1998? http://www.iehconsulting.co.uk/IEH_Consulting/IEHCPubs/HumExpRiskAssess/sr5.pdf

Secondly, please can you explain why this action was taken when the long-term health effects arising from low-level exposure to organophosphates had been known as far back as 1951 as shown in the Zuckerman report (link attached), had also been included the HSE MS17 published in 1980 and 1987 and when Guy's Hospital Toxicology Unit had confirmed numerous cases of farmers with chronic injury caused by organophosphates? http://www.oprus2001.co.uk/zuck1951.htm

I'd like the following information under the freedom of information act please: Details of how much money UKRI has awarded to UK universities under the UK's guarantee for money that has been won from Horizon Europe but which cannot be obtained from Horizon Europe due to Brexit (as detailed here: https://www.ukri.org/apply-for-funding/horizon-europe/).

I'd like this data broken down by amount, year of award and the institution it was awarded to please. IE - amounts per year for each institution that was given money under this route.

If this information already exists in a slightly different format at UKRI (e.g. a spreadsheet) then this might do instead, I'd be happy to discuss.

    Clarification Received: 27 February 2023

Thanks for your response - I'm very happy to have the information I requested for all institutions rather than specifically for universities.

The abstract in the details of the award (http://gotw.nerc.ac.uk/list_full.asp?pcode=NE%2FT003537%2F1&cookieConsent=A) states: 'as a partner in the first full-scale mining test done in 1979, they [UK Seabed Resources] have been able to release new data on the location and results of a 40-year old large-scale mining operation. Our project team have secured access to data and test plans, to allow detailed experimental evaluation of impact and recovery from realistic mining disturbance on a decadal scale of vital relevance to understanding the long-term sustainability of deep-sea mining'

Based on the above, please release the data and test plans related to the 1979 full-scale deep sea mining test done that was provided by the applicants to the Natural Environment Research Council as part of the application for funding to support the Smartex expedition JC241.
