We are currently looking into how the level of neuroscience funding might have changed over time and would appreciate your assistance in finding out more about the UKRI's funding into neuroscience and neuroscience-related disciplines.

Please could you provide me with information on the following, broken down by year and across your various research councils where applicable:

    • How many projects have been funded looking at neuroscience or neuroscience-related disciplines in the past 10 years?

    • Of the above projects, how much funding has gone into these projects in the past 10 years?

    • Of the above projects, can they be separated into specific fields (e.g. mental health, neurodegeneration etc), and what is the breakdown of this in the past 10 years?

    • Has the UKRI found a shift in funded projects based on recent innovative neurotechnological developments, including potentially more funding into artificial intelligence and neural interfaces as clinical therapies?

    • Over the past 10 years, has the total amount of funding for neuroscience and neuroscience-related disciplines changed (i.e. increased, decreased, stayed the same)?

FREEDOM OF INFORMATION REQUEST - SARS-CoV-2 VIRUS ISOLATION & RT-PCR CYCLE THRESHOLD

I would be very grateful if you could send me all records in the possession, custody or control of Independant The Medical Research Council describing the isolation of a SARS-CoV-2 virus, directly from a sample taken from a Covid-19 diseased patient, where the patient sample was not first combined with any other source of genetic material (i.e. monkey kidney cells aka vero cells; lung cells from a lung cancer patient).

Please note that I am using "isolation" in the every-day sense of the word: the act of separating a thing(s) from everything else. I am not requesting records where "isolation of SARS-CoV-2" refers instead to:

    • the culturing of something
    • or the performance of a RT-PCR amplification test
    • or the computer sequencing/modelling of something

Please also note that my request is not limited to records that were authored by Independant The Medical Research Council, or that pertain to work done by Independant The Medical Research Council. My request includes any sort of record, for example (but not limited to) any published peer-reviewed study that Independant The Medical Research Council has downloaded or printed.

If any records match the above description of requested records and are currently available to the public elsewhere, could you please provide enough information about each record so that I may identify and access each record with certainty (i.e. title, author(s), date, journal, where the public may access it).
