    I am writing to submit an information request under the Freedom of Information Act 2000. Please could you provide me with the following information:

    1. Can you provide me with a full list of all the non-NHS healthcare benefits that is provided to the UKRI workforce?

    2. A UKRI website indicates the provision of Benenden Healthcare benefits - https://epsrc.ukri.org/about/vacancies/benefits/. In addition, UKRI has advertised job roles with their adverts stating there is a Benenden Healthcare benefit provision. So, please could you provide me with the following information:

    a. Total cost of the provision of Benenden Healthcare benefits for each of the following financial years:

    i. 2018-19

    ii. 2019-20

    iii. 2020-21

    b. Total number of UKRI staff in receipt of a Benenden Healthcare benefit for the following financial years:

    i. 2018-19

    ii. 2019-20

    iii. 2020-21, and

    iv. As at 31 January 2022

  7. FOI2022/00022: Engineering Biology/SynBio calls - Rejections based on merit/scope

    I would like to receive information on the number of proposals submitted to all calls from the last decade which relate specifically to the "Engineering Biology" and/or "SynBio"-priority area of the BBSRC. For each call, listed by name and date, two simple numbers suffice:

    Number 1: The total number of submissions to the call.

    Number 2: The number of proposals rejected because they were judged to be outside remit.

    In addition, I would like to know the average percentage of proposals that are rejected based on remit for standard calls of the BBRSC for each of the last 3 years. That is: three numbers, one for each year, which gives the percentage of calls rejected because they were judged to be outside remit.

  9. FOI2022/00009: Monitoring Officer Complaints

    I would like to make a request under the Freedom of Information Act to be provided with the following information by Innovate UK:

    For each of the years 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020 the following data:

    i. For each of the above years the number of complaints made by grant holders concerning the bullying, harassing and other types of dysfunctional behaviours & attitudes of Monitoring Officers directed towards grant holders.

    ii. The number of monitoring officers who did not have levels of work-life balances

    iii. For each of the above years the percentage of these complaints that were responded to within the 10-day time frame published at URL Complaints procedure - Innovate UK - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)

    iv. For each of the above years the number of these complaints that were resolved to the grant holder's satisfaction.

    v. For each of the above years the number of Monitoring Officers recruited and the number of Monitoring Officers who resigned.

    vi. The suitability of applicants who had successfully been employed as Monitoring Officers, in terms of the percentage of Monitoring Officers recruited that had:

    • Insufficient or no technical knowledge of the project and tasks being undertaken

    • Insufficient or no expertise of the project and tasks being undertaken

    • Insufficient or no past experience of the project management of R&D projects

    • Insufficient or no past experience of financial management of R&D projects including those financial management methods used by IUK

    • Insufficient or no practical skills in computing requirements used in R&D projects to monitor these projects

    IGL Quote: 4. Data Methodology In order to evaluate the voucher's effectiveness, we collected data from several sources. First, Innovate UK provided us with information on the firms that applied for the innovation voucher program, covering all details from the application form. They also informed us on the allocation of firms into the treatment and the control group in the respective rounds, including information on whether firms passed the eligibility checks.
